▶ PLAY CAVE CARPWhy Cave Carp doesn't need "unblocking"
Most games get blocked at school or work because they sit on big gaming portals stuffed with ads and trackers, or because they ask you to download and install something a managed device won't allow. Cave Carp is the opposite: it's one small page served from its own site, cavecarp.com, with no installer, no account, and a payload light enough to load on the slowest school Wi-Fi. There's no app to sideload and no portal to route around — you open the page and you're playing.
How to play in 10 seconds
The whole game is one button. Hold (tap and hold, or hold the spacebar) to swim your carp upward; release to let it sink. That's it. Your job is to thread an endless underwater cave without clipping the rocks above or below, collecting glowing bubbles for bonus points as you go. The deeper you get, the higher your score — and the faster and tighter the cave becomes.
Works on any device
On a Chromebook or laptop, click and hold or press space. On a phone or tablet, just touch and hold the screen. Same game, same page, no settings to change. For a step-by-step on locked-down school devices, see our Chromebook guide.
Climb the leaderboard
Every run is scored by depth plus the bubbles you collect, and the monthly leaderboard resets so there's always a fresh shot at the top. You can name your carp before each dive — handy for claiming bragging rights over the people sitting near you. More on how it all adds up in the scoring & leaderboard guide.
A quick word on playing at school or work
Cave Carp is a legitimate, ad-light web page, not a way around your network's rules — so there's no need for proxies, "unblocked" mirror sites, or anything sketchy. Just save it for an actual break: a passing period, lunch, or the few minutes after you've finished your work. One run is about a minute, which is exactly the right size for a breather.
New here? Start with these
If it's your first dive, the how-to-play guide covers the timing tricks that turn a 50-metre run into a 500-metre one. And if you're wondering about the name — yes, cave carp are a real thing.
